An online registration and advertising website for a dog registration club

The brief

The Dog Lovers Registration Club UK registers pedigree and companion puppies and adult dogs, and runs a register where breeders can advertise puppies and stud dogs. The website had to explain the club’s registration services clearly and also let breeders manage their own adverts, without the club having to post each one by hand.

What we built

• Clear service information. Registering puppies and adult dogs, transferring ownership, replacement papers and change of address each have their own page, reached from one simple menu.
• Advertiser accounts. Breeders sign up for an account and log in to manage their own adverts.
• Online payments for stud dog adverts. Payment is taken securely online, and the advert appears on the site as soon as payment is complete.
• Free puppy adverts. Breeders can list litters free of charge, whether or not the puppies are registered with the club.
• Searchable listings. Puppy adverts can be filtered by breed, and the latest puppy and stud dog adverts are shown on the homepage automatically.

Why it works

A club like this has many visitors with very different aims: new owners transferring a puppy, breeders registering a litter, and people looking for a puppy. The site gives each of them a direct route, and lets breeders run their own adverts, which saves the club time.
